“A Journey through France” Dinner Buffet

Showcasing the elegance and finesse of French culinary culture—where depth of flavour, precise cooking techniques and quality ingredients take centre stage — The Window Café at The Kowloon Hotel unveils the all-new “A Journey through France” Dinner Buffet this May, as part of the annual French May celebrations. Featuring an array of classic French delicacies, the buffet spans indulgent soups, refined seafood, aromatic main courses and exquisite French desserts, recreating the charm of the French dining table in its entirety. Guests need not travel to Europe; with direct access from an MTR Tsim Sha Tsui Station exit, a 3.5-hour immersive French gourmet journey begins instantly upon arrival.

 

A signature highlight of the dinner buffet is the French Lobster Bouillabaisse, meticulously prepared by the culinary team using Boston lobster, salmon, squid, clams and blue mussels, slowly simmered to achieve a rich, fragrant and full-bodied broth. Layered with marine sweetness and depth, this classic French seafood soup sets the perfect opening note for the French-inspired feast.

 

 

An impressive selection of French specialties is also on offer. Freshly Roasted Oysters and French Lemon Cream Mussels deliver bright, coastal flavours that reflect France’s seaside culinary heritage, while the classic Pan-seared Foie Gras boasts a lightly crisp exterior with a silky, melt-in-the-mouth texture. Main course highlights include French-style Roasted Duck Breast with crisp skin and juicy meat, French Roasted Spring Chicken infused with aromatic herbs, Slow-roasted Rib Eye with Herbs, Paprika and Sea Salt, Pan-seared Rosemary Lamb Chops brimming with fragrance, and Red Wine Braised Oxtail slow-cooked to tender perfection. Lighter options such as Provencal Salmon, Tuna Niçoise Salad, and Egg Salad with Crab Meat and Caviar add a refreshing balance to the robust flavours.

 

 

Desserts are equally captivating, with The Window Café presenting a refined collection of French-inspired sweet creations. The dessert corner’s centrepiece is the Flambéed Baked Alaska, freshly prepared live at 8:15 p.m. every evening, offering guests a multi-sensory experience with both visual flair and indulgent taste. Other highlights include the rich Molten Chocolate Cake, velvety Crème Brûlée, delicately layered Mango Mille-Feuille, refreshing Lemon Meringue Tart, and the nutty, aromatic Pistachio and Lemon Financier, bringing the French culinary journey to a sweet and satisfying close.

 

 

Beyond the French-themed offerings, The Window Café continues to showcase its popular international buffet favourites to suit diverse palates. The Chilled Seafood Station features Isoyaki Abalone, Snow Crab Legs, herb-infused Crayfish, and premium New Zealand Green Mussels. Japanese selections include assorted sashimi such as Hokkaido Scallops and Argentine Red Shrimp, Pan-seared Japanese A5 Wagyu and Naihe Beef, Salt-grilled Ox Tongue, Wagyu Beef Californian Roll, Soft Shell Crab Californian Roll, and Freshly Fried Prawn Tempura. Chinese delicacies include Peking Duck, Double-boiled Chinese Soup with Pork Rib, Fresh Ginseng and Red Dates, and Steamed Halibut Fillet with Spring Onion and Premium Soy Sauce, while American-style Barbecued Pork Ribs are also available to complete the extensive spread.

 

 

The dessert selection continues with a variety of favourites including Traditional Tiramisu, Hokkaido Red Bean Pudding, Black Sesame Warabi Mochi, Pomelo Sago, and silky Fresh-made Tofu Pudding. Guests may also enjoy up to nine flavours of Mövenpick ice cream, perfectly paired with molten chocolate cake, delivering delightful sweet surprises and a memorable finale to the feast.

 

The “A Journey through France” Dinner Buffet at The Window Café, The Kowloon Hotel will be available from 11 May onwards. Conveniently located with direct access from an MTR Tsim Sha Tsui Station exit, the restaurant is an ideal venue for celebratory gatherings and social occasions. During the dining period, corkage is waived, allowing guests to bring their own wine or spirits and enjoy a relaxed, convivial dining experience while savouring French classics alongside international favourites.
