Harbour Plaza Hotel Management Limited (“Harbour Plaza”) recently suffered a cybersecurity incident involving some of its hotels’ accommodation reservation databases. Upon learning of the incident, the company immediately engaged a team of third-party forensic experts to investigate and contain the incident and to further secure its systems.
Harbour Plaza has identified approximately 1.2 million individuals whom it intends to contact to provide information on how their personal data may be affected. Investigation is still ongoing. Harbour Plaza has established a dedicated website (https://info.harbour-plaza.com) and call center (+852 3908 0740) to handle guest enquiries.
The incident has been reported to the Hong Kong Police and other relevant authorities. Harbour Plaza considers the protection of its customer data a very important part of its service promise. It denounces the action of the perpetrators and will continue to cooperate with the relevant authorities.
