Harbour Plaza North Point Charity Visit to Hong Chi Association
Volunteer Team of Harbour Plaza North Point joined hands to visit Hong Chi Association on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 and held a Christmas lunch party with 160 students with intellectual disabilities from the Hong Chi Pinehill Village.
There were 21 team members from various departments taking time off from their busy schedule to participate in the hotel’s charity event and spent a pleasant afternoon with the students. The caring team had prepared and served a delectable lunch to them, then followed by a game session. All students were indulged in the fun-filled atmosphere and had a wonderful time.
The highlight of the event was the surprise appearance of Santa Claus; students were overcome with excitement and welcomed him with the warmest hugs and kisses. Santa Claus brought along a great big bag and visited each table to deliver the Christmas presents. Joy, fun and happiness were lit on each student’s face.
Virginia Tam, the General Manager at Harbour Plaza North Point was pleased that the staff members volunteered to participate with thankful and delightful hearts. “This is the 5th time for us to visit Hong Chi Association since 2008, aside from putting a smile on the students’ faces; the program was also an opportunity for our staff to share the ‘Joy of Giving’ - true happiness doesn't result from what we get but from what we give. We will keep on reaching out for the community to extend love and care to the less fortunate.”
