With autumn’s approaching and crabs in season, The Kowloon Hotel is celebrating with tantalising menus for all crab-lovers. From 1 September to 30 November 2014, The Window Café at The Kowloon Hotel will put Alaska Queen Crab under the spotlight, featuring detectable dishes and delights made from the succulent airfreight Alaska Queen Crab, depicting both the Eastern and Western charm of crabs with authentic and alluring dishes in our “Season of Crabs” Buffet Dinner!

We understand that most diners savvy on quality of seafood, that is why what The Window Café offers is not about bold flavours – its all in the finesse. We offer every diner a “Baked Alaska Queen Crab Meat & Seafood with Sea Urchin” with our compliments in September; and a “Steamed Whole Hairy Crab” in October and November to please all discerning and delicate palates.
We combine the freshest and finest of the Queen Crab with an assortment of premium ingredients, and created a range of creative yet extravagant dishes. Recommendations include:
Ø Alaska Queen Crab Leg with Mango Cocktail: The delicate crab legs and refreshing mango cubes paired up and made to order; served on ice, just taste the layers of flavour of this art piece appetizer.
Ø Baked Queen Crab Meat and Scallop Quiche with Truffle and Leek: Flaky homemade crust covered in a blanket of crab meat and scallop and baked to perfection; the truffle gave the whole dish a kick and a beautiful fragrant without being overpowering.
Ø Braised Abalone with Queen Crab Meat and Hairy Crab Roe: Just surrender to the irresistible briny taste and sweetness of this flawless dish. Bringing out the best of both the abalone and crab meat, the hairy crab roe gave the dish its remarkable rich and creamy touch.
Ø Pan-fried Aloe and Queen Crab Cake with Mango Salsa: a light and noteworthy choice for this feast of crab. The crab meat is hand-pulled, mixed with Aloe and herbs and pan-fried till golden brown and served with refreshing mango salsa. Crisp on the outside and juicy in the inside, the crab cake is a definite must-try!
It is also wise to leave rooms for the array of cold seafood, sashimi and make-to-order sushi! The new Jumbo Swiss Cake with Strawberry & Bird’s Nest, Bird’s Nest & Lychee Pandan Cake and Apricot & Chocolate Touffle Cake, along with unlimited Mövenpick Ice-cream will definitely serve as the perfect foil for the perfect meal.
